Music for League of Legends’ Xayah and Rakan

Music for League of Legends’ Xayah and Rakan

I’m really excited to share with you all this super cool project we wrapped up for League of Legends!

I’m feeling thankful for the opportunity to write music for this awesome piece. We recorded a bunch a big group of our L.A. musician friends at The Bridge (assembled by the amazing Noah Gladstone and Elisa Rice), under the baton of conductor extraordinaire Anthony Parnther, all beautifully captured by Steve Kaplan. Úyanga Bold blessed us with some truly inspiring vocal performances!

Big up to the rest of my sound bros, Eliot Connors, Kyle Vande Slunt, Bryan Higa and Sean Balas for the sonic goodness!

Last but not least, here is the theme that I wrote for Rakan and Xayah, League of Legends’ newest champions.

Grateful I get to sing on the epic and magical music of Edouard Brenneisen for League of Legends/Riot Games today! 🎶

League of Legends – Lunar Revel

League of Legends – Lunar Revel

I recently wrote the music for League of Legends’ Lunar Revel event.

The music features soloists Karen Han on erhu and Chris Bleth on ethnic woodwinds.

You can also check out the wonderful website that tells the story of victorious Wukong, and marks the beginning of the year of the monkey:

Teaser-trailer for “Casting Call”

Teaser-trailer for “Casting Call”

The teaser for “Call Call” is now up on YouTube! You can find it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtuRg0CWrmg

Produced by Bryan Veney and directed by Berman Fenelus, “Casting Call” takes a great (and rather efficient!) stab at the slasher movie genre. I had the great pleasure of scoring the teaser.

Edouard Brenneisen wraps up “The Final Nights: the Proposition”

Edouard Brenneisen wraps up “The Final Nights: the Proposition”

Edouard recently scored director JR Howell’s sophomore film, “The Final Nights: the Proposition”.

For the score to “The Final Nights: the Proposition”, Edouard relied on a playful interaction between a chamber string ensemble and a full symphony orchestra, augmented by solo violin and electric cello, weaving edgy musical colors through the ambiguous story line.

Here is an excerpt from the score:

“The Barber” – thriller movie released

“The Barber” – thriller movie released

“The Barber” was just released! A year ago I had the great pleasure on writing music for this great thriller piece alongside the great Freddy Sheinfeld.

Here are a few words about the film:

“The first film produced by Chapman Filmed Entertainment is the thriller The Barber. The company optioned the script from professional screenwriter Max Enscoe and tapped Chapman alumnus Basel Owies, ’10 M.F.A. Film Production, to direct the feature. Dodge College alumni filled key creative positions and current students participated in a variety of roles.

A character-driven thriller, The Barber examines two men fixated on what triggers the enormity of evil: a father whose life is destroyed in pursuit of a killer, a son caught in a deadly charade as he tries to unravel his father’s obsession. The film stars Scott Glenn (The Silence of the LambsThe Bourne UltimatumTraining Day), Stephen Tobolowsky (MementoGroundhog Day, Buried) and Chris Coy (RandomGreenbergHostel: Part III).

The film was shot on location in Orange and in the Los Angeles area.

Director Basel Owies graduated from Dodge College’s Conservatory of Motion Pictures in 2010. His short films have won several awards including Best Featurette at Red Rock Film Festival for his thesis film, Forced Perspective.”
